About 20-30% of women develop lymphedema after breast surgery. Usually, Lymphedema does not occur immediately after breast cancer treatment, but often delayed. With a large number of patients, the disease is frequently detected too late or not at all. Without therapeutic measures, the disease continues to progress and the complaints increase – with serious consequences for those affected, whose quality of life can be greatly changed.
Amoena has developed various care concepts to optimally support women in every phase of breast cancer therapy. The new CuraLymph care concept – combines products from all three areas (Recovery Care, Breast forms & shapers and Breast Care Apparel). The product solutions complement each other perfectly and make a relevant contribution to a optimal care solution every step of the way.
When wearing conventional tops and bras, straps and cuffs can constrict the tissues and thus impair lymphatic flow. The newly designed CuraLymph collection has wide, padded straps and soft finishes, they are very comfortable to wear and some have a slight shaping effect.
Campaign – Get into the flow
After breast cancer therapy, especially if edematization occurs due to radiation or lymph node removal, it is crucial to keep on moving. The right amount of exercise is essential – not too little and not too much. Exercise not only stimulates the circulation but also promotes the lymphatic drainage.
The new campaign of CuraLymph is called “get into the flow” and its face is portrayed through Karin (60) – breast cancer survivor model. Karin demonstrates through fluid yoga movements how to stay in the movement, in the flow. The harmonious sequences reflect the design of the products, small details and the flowing movements are epitomised in the lymph flow.
