Amoena, the world leader in breast care, has added some exciting new products to its range that are specially designed to provide comfort and care for women who have lymphoedema following breast cancer surgery.
About 20-30% of women develop lymphoedema - a build-up of fluid in the lymphatic system - after breast surgery. However many women are unaware of the risk of developing the condition. Without therapy, the disease can progress and greatly affect quality of life. Finding the right bra is important - must-have features include wide straps that won't dig into the shoulders, supportive fabric, soft closures and adequate support at the back and sides.
Amoena has developed various care concepts to support women in every phase of breast cancer therapy. The new CuraLymph care concept combines products from the Recovery Care, Breast Forms & Shapers and Breast Care Apparel categories. These product solutions complement each other perfectly and help to provide optimal care solutions every step of the way.
When wearing conventional tops and bras, the straps and bands can constrict tissue and thus impair lymphatic flow. The newly designed CuraLymph collection aims to provide the comfort and care women with lymphoedema need, with wide padded straps and soft closures. Some styles also feature SensELAST® to provide a light massaging effect.
After breast cancer therapy, especially if edematization occurs due to radiation or lymph node removal, it is crucial to keep moving. The right amount of exercise is essential – not too little or too much. Exercise not only stimulates circulation but also promotes lymphatic drainage.
Amoena's new campaign for CuraLymph is called “get into the flow” and features breast cancer survivor Karen, aged 60, modelling the collection.
The aim is to motivate patients to stay in the flow, to positively influence the disease and it’s prevention. Making an active contribution can often make a big difference. Amoena's products are designed to support this and strengthen self-confidence.
Amoena CuraLymph products are valuable additions to our optimal care solutions for improving patients’ lives.
