You say the you were wearing a Contact partial form. The Adapt air will not stick to the chest wall and is a full form.
It is unlikely that the shapes currently available would suit you.

The Adapt Air is designed for ladies that are finding a standard breast for a little too small or they have a very uneven chest wall they may feel that they could do with a half size. his case we say to order the size you have already then the form can be inflated to the half size or the air will fill the uneveness of the chest wall.Question
As I am a pensioner and I need to buy two forms are there any facilities to make stage payments?

I have had a left mastectomy and my Amoena bras are 42D non wired padded which fit fine on my remaining breast. What size do I need to buy in the adaptair? My scar is not totally flat yet so will this be a problem?

We would say to choose a size 10. the fact that your scars is not totally flat should not be a problem as the Adapt air will fill in around it. I this did not prove to be suitable you can of course go down a size and then pump up to compensate.Question
Can you use an Adapt Air in a non pocketed bra?

Any of our forms can be worn against the skin so this should not be a problem. Pocketed bras give an extra sense of security and also ensure that the cup size is big enough to cover the form.Question
I am a 38D what size should I order and do they all come in the same shape ?Can they be worn next to the skin or do they have to be in a pocket bra .

For a 38D you would usually need at size 08. Yes they can be worn against the skin if you wish. there are 2 shapes the 1SN which is a shallow fit and holds most of the weight at the bottom and more pear shaped and the 2SN which is more triangular and has a bit more weight towards the top of the form.
