Persistence and a Heart for Others
Amoena is proud to be her longtime companion
For nearly 40 years, the beautiful young lady pictured here has been supported by Amoena. Her right-side mastectomy took place in 1977.
“I’ve always loved the Amoena forms,” Margie Goldberg, 81, explains. She wears a Natura lightweight breast form, finding it comfortable and familiar. “Any other times I’ve tried something else, I always come back to Amoena.” When she called our corporate office recently, we had the pleasure of talking about how persistence and a desire to help others has kept her going all these years.
Mrs. Goldberg has had her share of trials. “Three cancers that weren’t even related!” she recalls. After a 30-year reprieve, in 2007 she was once again diagnosed with breast cancer, and had a lumpectomy and radiation on her left breast. Then, in 2009, a colon resection and chemotherapy sent her from a healthy 136 pounds down to 103. At 76, that was a tough one – but the support of her husband and her good attitude got her through it.
…And water aerobics. In 2014, you can find Margie in her hometown of Waco, Texas, “at the pool, doctor’s appointments, or at Providence,” the hospital where she volunteers. She enjoys her water classes three times a week – it’s hard to catch her by phone! -- and it’s easy to see that giving back is important to her. When she couldn’t volunteer to push wheelchairs, she found something she could do – keeping the hospital chapel ready for regular services.
We know she’ll keep persisting and we’re very happy to be her longtime companion.
Amoena Natura breast forms move naturally with the body, and even flatten when lying down.
