The numbers represent the Cup Form (Shallow, Average, and Full) and the letters represent the Shape (Symmetrical, Asymmetrical, Universal, and Extra).  I have added a link to an Amoena article "The Fitting Process."

I have been wearing Amoena 283A sz 8/9 for quite awhile now. It is a little too large now. What size would I wear in the Essential, is there a difference in thickness, touch as my current one is quite heavy. Also would appreciate the price to order. Thank you.

If you have had a recent change in weight and your Amoena beast form is no longer fitting properly, you may consider getting a smaller size.  The Essentials breast forms are our base forms that are more of a fuller (thicker) breast form then what you currently have from the Balance Portfolio 283A.  The sizing for the Essential is a size 8 or 9, not 8/9, so you would start with the 8 if you need a smaller size or go to a size 7. Currently, Amoena does not sell partials or breast forms online; they are only sold at the retailer level, because we understand the importance of getting the right fit.
